Rhodothermus marinus DSM 4252. Rhodothermus marinus DSM 4252 was isolated from a shallow marine hot spring off the coast of Iceland. This organism produces a number of thermostable enzymes, such as cellulase and xylanase, which may be important in industrial processes. Rhodothermus marinus DSM 4252 is the type strain and this genome will provide information on the production and regulation of thermostable enzymes.
