Metagenomic analysis of cerebrospinal fluid from encephalitis patients. human metagenome

Acute encephalitis is severe neurological syndrome, occasionally associated with virus infection. However, virus pathogens have not been identified in many cases. We investigated cerebrospinal fluid from pediatric patients with acute encephalitis of unknown etiology using NGS. We identified putative virus pathogens such as Coxackievirus A9 and mumps in these samples.
