MWIR Hyperspectral Dataset of Black and Colored Post-Consumer PP, PE, PET and PS

This dataset contains MWIR hyperspectral recordings of black and colored post-consumer polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), and polystyrene (PS). The data were acquired using a Specim FX50 camera with 640 spatial pixels, 154 spectral bands, and a single integration time of 1299 microseconds. Measurements are provided as digital number (DN) values without conversion to reflectance. The background is open space. The archive contains 16 capture folders, each containing measurement.raw, measurement.hdr, and measurement.jpg. The RAW files use ENVI BIL format with little-endian unsigned 16-bit values. Dimensions, wavelength coordinates, and reading parameters are provided in the HDR files. JPG files are acquisition previews. Folder names identify the polymer, color, and dataset group. The suffix b denotes black material, while w denotes colored material. Folders without _test belong to training group A; folders ending in _test belong to test group B. The two groups contain fragments from different original products. Group B has also been examined during method development. Polymer labels are contributor-provided. A shared set of dark and white reference recordings is included directly under data/ for reference only. These recordings were not used for reflectance conversion in the associated research. Pixel-level and object-level annotations are not included.
