This project will determine the fungal and bacterial communities associated with roots from a sustainable bioenergy feedstock cropping system, and test whether fertilization or plant identity, including intra- or inter-specific diversity, will influence the composition or functioning of the microbiome. Specifically, these bacterial (16S) and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal (SSU) communities were characterized, and various metrics of microbial biomass, as well as function were measured to identify plant-specific responses to fertilization and subsequent effects on associated microbial communities.

本研究旨在明确可持续生物能源原料种植体系中植物根系关联的真菌与细菌群落构成,并探究施肥措施与植物属性(含种内及种间多样性)是否会对微生物组的组成与功能产生影响。具体而言,本研究对细菌群落(16S)与丛枝菌根真菌群落(SSU)开展了特征鉴定,并测定了多项微生物生物量及功能指标,以解析植物对施肥措施的特异性响应,以及该响应对相关微生物群落带来的后续效应。
