Herschel Extragalactic Legacy Project (HELP) is an astronomical multi-wavelength catalog project funded by the European Union's FP7 program, aiming to release multi-wavelength catalogs for the Herschel Space Observatory survey region covering approximately 1300 square degrees of the sky. This dataset encompasses millions of galaxies with ultraviolet to far-infrared photometric measurements, making it particularly ideal for testing spectral energy distribution (SED) fitting models and supporting the development of next-generation data-related tools. The HELP project not only constructs a large-scale, unified multi-wavelength database, but also prioritizes both wide and deep survey fields with varying sky coverage areas. The development of this dataset involved selecting 170 million objects across the 0.36–4.5 micrometer wavelength range from the Herschel Space Observatory archives, with support from spectroscopic or photometric redshifts. Application scenarios of the HELP dataset include statistical investigations into the formation and evolution of low- to intermediate-redshift galaxy populations, as well as spectral energy distribution fitting analyses, among other research directions.
