Anonymised Behavioural Data from Speech-on-Speech Spatial Release from Masking Tests This repository contains anonymised behavioural data collected for the study: “The Impact of Individual Head-Related Transfer Function Augmentation on Spatial Release from Masking.” Marggraf-Turley, N., Pontoppidan, N., Picinali, L. (2025) Data Description The dataset includes trial-by-trial responses from spatial release from masking (SRM) experiments. In these tests, participants were presented with spatialised speech stimuli based on their individual head-related transfer functions (HRTFs) and two augmented HRTF conditions involving interaural magnification. Stimuli were derived from the Coordinate Response Measure (CRM) corpus and followed the structure: “Ready [Call Sign], go to [Colour] [Number] now.” Each sentence was defined by a combination of: - Call Signs: Arrow, Baron, Charlie, Eagle, Hopper, Laker, Ringo, Tiger - Colours: Blue, Red, Green, White - Numbers: 1–8 Each trial specifies the target and masker sentence configurations based on these values. Usage Notes - Stimulus Reconstruction: Specific target and masker sentences can be reconstructed from the call sign, colour, and number combinations listed in each trial record. - Data Anonymisation: All participant identifiers have been removed in accordance with ethical guidelines. - Experimental Context: Participants completed trials across multiple masker separations (co-located and spatially separated maskers) and HRTF types (individual and augmented).
