Candidatus Regiella insecticola str. LSR1. Candidatus Regiella insecticola str. LSR1 infects the pea aphid (Acyrthosiphon pisum) clone LSR1, which is the same aphid clone selected for whole genome sequencing. More than 70% of the C. R. insecticola genome sequence was generated from subcloning BACs from the "APP_Ba" library generated and archived by Clemson University Genomics Institute. DNA was also isolated and purified from whole insects for 454 pyrosequencing.
