This study aims to investigate the transcriptional responses of the mandarin fish (Siniperca chuatsi) pyloric caeca to an acute infection of Mandarin fish Ranavirus (MRV), a significant viral pathogen affecting aquaculture. Using single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq), we aim to profile the gene expression changes in the pyloric caeca tissues of both infected and control mandarin fish. The two experimental groups consist of fish infected with MRV and healthy controls, with each group having two biological replicates. By comparing the transcriptional landscape of the two groups, we seek to uncover the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying the immune response, tissue damage, and viral replication in the infected fish.
