Zika virus PRVABC59 was passaged 18 times in 3 replicates on co-cultured Aedes aegypti cells and Culex tarsalis cells (with increasing proportions of CT cells) to see if it can be slowly adapted to replication in Culex cells. Viruses passages were sequenced to identify potential SNVs associated with passaging.
