Public trust in the Federal Government in Belgium 2023

The level of trust regarding the Federal Government in Belgium was rather negative in the summer of 2022. During that time, almost 60 percent of the respondents in Belgium declared having the tendency not to trust the Belgian government. However, just over 40 percent of respondents stated to be trustful towards it, therefore giving a more nuanced picture of public trust in Belgium. According to a survey, the level of trust in political parties was also mostly low during that time. To emphasize this statement, Belgium had the highest share of untrusting respondents in the Benelux. The Belgian political landscape faced many obstacles and has yet to face some challenges to gain the trust of the Belgian population.
