A strain of low temperature and high salt tolerant nitrogen removing bacteria was isolated from domestic sewage in Inner Mongolia. This Pseudomonas knackmussii L4 can effectively metabolize ammonia nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, and nitrite nitrogen.

In this experiment, a heterotrophic nitrification-aerobic denitrification (HN-AD) strain with low-temperature tolerance and high-salt tolerance was screened from the activated sludge in the aerobic section of a domestic sewage treatment plant in Inner Mongolia. Through morphological characteristics and 16S rDNA analysis, it was identified and named as Pseudomonas knackmussii L4.
