The Role of Modern Communication Technologies in Political Discourse

This article analyzes the role of modern communication technologies in political discourse from linguistic and sociolinguistic perspectives. The study examines the communication strategies employed by political leaders on digital platforms, their speech characteristics, and communicative goals. Results indicate that technologies are democratizing political discourse while transforming it into an emotional, interactive, and multimodal form. Simultaneously, digital communication tools also heighten the risk of political manipulation and disinformation. The article integrates critical discourse analysis, cognitive metaphor, and mediated discourse approaches in examining political communication. The research findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the social and linguistic features of contemporary political communication.
