Saint Pierre Abbey

This portal marks the apogee of roman languedocean art. The bas relief on the lateral walls, narrates the Apocalypse. The sculptor respected the Evangelic scriptures: Christ is decorated with Evangelic symbols. The lintel, decorated with roses, is standing up on a trumeau with lions. The two portals are decorated on one side with the prophet Isaiah and Jeremiah, on the other side with Peter and Paul. This all symbolizes the union between old and new Testament.这座门户堪称朗格多克罗马式艺术的巅峰之作。侧壁上的浅浮雕（bas relief）描绘了《圣经·启示录》。雕刻师严格遵循福音书经文：基督形象搭配了福音象征符号。饰有玫瑰纹样的门楣（lintel）由带有狮子造型的中楣柱（trumeau）支撑。两座门户的一侧装饰有先知以赛亚与耶利米的形象，另一侧则为圣彼得与圣保罗。所有这些元素共同象征着新旧约的合一。
