# Digital Economic Security Lab DIESL Data Repository ## Version 1.0 This repository contains publicly shareable datasets produced by the**Digital Economic Security Lab (DIESL.eu)** at Aalto University. The purpose of the repository is to provide transparent, reusable, and citable research data related to the digital economy, cloud infrastructure, regulation, and security. Each dataset is stored in its own subdirectory and documented with a dedicated README. ## Repository Structure- Each dataset is stored in its own subdirectory at the repository root.- Every dataset subdirectory contains a dedicated `README.md` describing: - data source and collection, - unit of observation, - variable definitions, - processing and classification choices, - licence and citation.- Data files (typically CSV) are stored alongside the dataset README. ## Datasets:- `hosting_dependence/` — FOI-based evidence on public-sector cloud hosting providers.- `cross_border_transfer_laws/` — LLM-assisted classification of national data-protection laws on an OECD cross-border data transfer restrictiveness scale (0–6), covering 250+ countries and jurisdictions.- `cloud_avability_zone_2025/` — Provider–country–year panel of availability zone deployments by nine hyperscale cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Alibaba, Tencent, Huawei, OVHcloud, Hetzner, Exoscale) from 2006 to 2025. ## Data Policy- Only data that can be shared publicly are included in this repository.- No personal data are included.- Raw confidential materials (e.g. original FOI response texts, contracts, restricted microdata) are not published here. ## Versioning and CitationThis repository is mirrored from Aalto GitLab to Zenodo.Each GitLab release corresponds to an archived Zenodo record with a DOI.
