High frequency ultrasound scanning of phantoms made with PVA charged with particles

This dataset contains ultrasound backscattered signals in the range 20-70MHz from tissue mimicking materials based on Poly-vinyl Alcohol (PVA) charged with particles. This dataset was obtained to evaluate quantitative ultrasound techniques for tissue characterization. The ultrasound system used to obtain data was based on a single-channel transducer pulse-echo configuration performing linear scans. The transducer used has a wide band covering frequencies from 20 MHz up to 70 MHz. This spherically focalized transducer features a 10 mm curvature radius and a 6 mm diameter active element. Materials were evaluated at depths up to 6mm.
