Minneapolis-St. Paul Metropolitan Area Storm Drain Watershed Delineations, Attributes, and Stormwater Runoff Concentration

This data package contains a shapefile that delineates the watersheds of 85 stormwater monitoring sites located in the Minneapolis-St. Paul (Minnesota, USA) metropolitan area, and a data table of attributes related to landscape and drainage characteristics of these watersheds. The watersheds correspond to the monitoring sites included in the data table of stormwater runoff concentration data for 14,000 storm events from 1995-2022. Watershed delineations were primarily acquired directly from the cities and agencies who collected the stormwater runoff data, with several watersheds delineated manually by the package authors from elevation data and storm pipe maps provided by cities and agencies. Watershed and drainage attributes were developed as potential predictors of runoff water quality in the concentration database, and include descriptions of land cover, land use, traffic, road density and type, street canopy cover, slope and soil characteristics, all of which could be derived from publicly-available spatial data.
