Microbiological comparison of different inoculums for validation of biogas production using laboratory and industrial scale reactors

The use of fossil fuels, their scarcity, and negative environmental effects have motivated the search for new energy sources. In this context, the generation of methane (CH4) from the anaerobic digestion of organic solid waste operates as an alternative source in the production of energy and reuse of these materials in the face of possible environmental collapse. This work aimed to compare different sources of inoculum and residues in methane production using high-performance sequencing, bioinformatics tools, and physicochemical analysis.
