资源简介:
This study was aimed to compare the accuracy and precision of portion estimation with a food atlas and with salted replicas relative to weighed records (the reference). The food portion photography atlas had been developed prior to this data collection with age-appropriate portion sizes for 11 foods frequently consumed by children (sizes for 6-11-month- and for 12-23-month-old children) and women of childbearing age in Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso. Our data were collected through a survey in 2021 on a sample of 67 women with their children, 35 aged 12-23 months and 33 aged 6-11 months. The provided dataset contains estimates of portion sizes of food consumed the previous day by the participants using two different estimation tools. Data records were anonymized by removing direct and indirect identifiers. The analysis of the data collected resulted in the published article "Estimation of food portion sizes in women of childbearing age and young children in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) using a food photography atlas and salted replicas: comparison with weighed records". The detailed protocol of the study was approved by an ethics committee in Burkina Faso, the Ethics Committee of the Research Institute in Health Science (N° 29-2019/CEIRES). After explaining the study purpose and implementation to the participants, and giving them an information note, we asked them to sign an informed consent form.
