The purpose of the dataset C. elegans terminal bulb aging is to deduce the age of the nemathode based on images of the pharynx terminal bulb (part of the eating apparatus). Images of C. elegans were taken at different chronological ages. This image is part of the day 2 data set. Note that the morphological and chronological ages are not fully correlated due to the variability among individuals even though the individuals are genetically identical. The source for the dataset is Laboratory of Genetics/NIA/NIH.本数据集为C. elegans（秀丽隐杆线虫）咽终端球衰老数据集，其研究目标是基于线虫咽部终端球（进食装置的组成部分）的图像推断线虫的年龄。研究人员针对不同实足年龄的秀丽隐杆线虫采集了对应图像，本示例图像属于第2天数据集的一部分。需注意：即便这些个体遗传背景完全一致，个体间仍存在差异，因此形态年龄与实足年龄之间并非完全相关。本数据集的来源为遗传学实验室、美国国家衰老研究所（NIA）、美国国立卫生研究院（NIH）。
