资源简介:
Gryllus assimilis, commonly known as Jamaican field cricket, is an edible insect that represents a more sustainable and efficient production system to meet the growing demand for food. Despite its high economic value, a high-quality reference genome of G. assimilis has been lacking. Here, we report a chromosome-level reference genome of G. assimilis based on Nanopore sequencing and Hi-C technologies. The genome has a total length of 1.60 Gb with scaffold N50 of 102 Mb, and 96.80% of the genome was assigned to 15 chromosomes-scale scaffolds. Furthermore, we predicted 15,768 protein-coding genes, and 569 Mb repetitive elements were annotated in the reference genome. This reference genome of G. assimilis will provide a solid basis for the subsequent development of genomic resources and offer insights for future functional genomic studies and DNA-informed breeding of this species.
