We focused on a member of Chimaeridae, the silver chimaera Chimaera phantasma, and sequenced the genome of this species. We first obtained contigs using continuous long reads and scaffolded them with Hi-C data. This process allowed us to obtain the first chromosome-scale genome assembly for Chimaeridae.
