Inferring geographic origin of white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus)

This repository contains information for free-ranging white-tailed deer sampled in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and New York. Samples were genotyped using the Axiom OVSNP60 Genotyping Array, consisting of 72,723 SNPs. 157001_157003_GenotypingDataVCF.vcf: raw genotypes for 1,754 white-tailed deer samples. Metadata_1754samples.xlsx: additional information, containing the following columns: "Order_in_vcf", the order of samples as it shows in the vcf file; "sample_ID"; "Sequencing_ID", as assigned by the hired sequencing service; "Sex", coded as M for males and F for females; "State", representing the state where the sample was collected, coded as PA for Pennsylvania, OH for Ohio, NY for New York, MD for Maryland and VA for Virginia; "CountyName", representing the county where the sample was collected; "lat", representing latitude (EPSG:4326 WGS 84); "long", representing longitude (EPSG:4326 WGS 84); "x", representing projected coordinates on the x axis (user-defined CRS, similar to USA Contiguous Albers Equal Area Conic: "+proj=aea +lat_1=29.3 +lat_2=45.3 +lat_0=23 +lon_0=-96 +x_0=0 +y_0=0 +ellps=GRS80 +towgs84=0,0,0,0,0,0,0 +units=m +no_defs").
