The samples supplied are from the MDTIP Consortium project, identifying targets for a series of compounds originating from a variety of sources, including the MMV malaria box. MMV008149 was included in this analysis and was found to have cross resistance against previous isogenic strains with mutations in cytochrome bc1. Therefore, selection experiments were run to validate if cytochrome bc1 was the target for MMV008149, which was confirmed with these resistant samples.
