We are proposing 6 days of beamtime on IRIS to conduct the QENS experiments on a Metal–Organic Framework (MOF), MIL101 containing Mg(TFSI)2 and H2O in pores. This material exhibits Mg superionic conductivity of around 10-3 S cm-1 at RT, expected to be contributing to the Mg-ion batteries which are promising candidates for non-lithium-ion solid-state batteries. MOF-Mg(TFSI)2, MOF-H2O, and Mg(TFSI)2 aqueous solution will also be measured for comparison. The present work will give great physical insight into the mechanism of Mg superionic conductivity.
