Study on stress response of Escherichia coli to toxic protein

Escherichia coli is a common model of microbial research.We wanted to investigate changes in the bacterial transcriptome when lipase toxic proteins are heteroexpressed and localized to the bacterial periplasm. The toxic protein was cloned into pET22b(+) vector, and the vector carrying the toxic protein was transferred into the common strain BL21 (DE3) for expression and was located to the bacterial periplasm.BL21 (DE3) strain was transferred into pET22b as control.Transcriptome differences between the two strains were observed.
