Election Survey among Immigrants and Others, 2017

The Election Survey of persons with immigrant background in 2017 was conducted in the fall of 2017. The purpose of the survey was to describe immigrants and Norwegian-born with immigrant parents' participation in elections. The survey provides knowledge of the target group's role in Norwegian democracy with a focus on various forms of participation. The survey is funded through Statistics Norway's framework agreement on immigrant-related statistics.

15,740 persons have been drawn to the survey from the Population Register, of which respondents with an immigrant background are over-represented. The selection was later checked against the electoral number.

The survey was conducted as a web survey. We obtained an interview with 35 percent of the sample. The main reason why we did not get a response from everyone is that we did not get in touch with all the people in the sample during the data collection period.
