The dataset includes mineral chemistry and crystallographic axis orientations for various minerals from selected metamorphic rock samples collected in the Gol Mountains of Northern Tanzania.
Electron-microprobe data (Excel spreadsheet) include mineral structural formulae calculation by charge balance criteria following various procedures suggested in the bibliography (Spear, 1995) for different phases. Electron back-scattered diffraction (EBSD) mineral petrofabric data are the direct output of the automated Electron Back-Scattered Diffraction system from the University of the Basque Country (Channel5, HKL), and can be processed with MTex software and Matlab (Bachmann et al., 2010).
