资源简介:
Conservation genetic management approaches, such as augmenting gene flow, have the potential to improve the adaptive potential of populations, which is a primary goal in species conservation. Despite its demonstrated successes, genetic management remains infrequently applied in practical conservation. This thesis evaluates the prospects and assess the outcomes of genetic rescue for two endangered Australian plant species with different rates of natural outcrossing, as case studies for incorporating mating system in genetic management planning. It makes recommendations to guide and encourage future applications of genetic rescue for this and comparable threatened species.
