Vapor In-Cloud Profiling Radar (VIPR) datasets
NASA’s Vapor In-cloud Profiling Radar (VIPR) is a tunable G-band radar designed for remote sensing of humidity within clouds and precipitation. VIPR estimates humidity using the differential absorption radar (DAR) technique. These files contain radar reflectivity data and humidity estimates from measurements collected during the Investigation of Microphysics and Precipitation for Atlantic Coast-Threatening Snowstorms (IMPACTS) campaign and the Synergies of Active Optical and Active Microwave Remote Sensing Experiment (SOA2RSE) campaign. Documentation is limited, but Millan et al. (2024, doi: 10.5194/amt-17-539-2024) provides a detailed description of the instrument and the associated data.
(Investigation of Microphysics and Precipitation for Atlantic Coast-Threatening Snowstorms,IMPACTS)外场观测项目,以及主动光学与主动微波遥感协同实验(Synergies of Active Optical and Active Microwave Remote Sensing Experiment,SOA2RSE)外场观测项目中采集的雷达反射率数据与湿度估算结果。
