De Novo-Whole Genome Assemblies for Two Southern African Dwarf Chameleons (Bradypodion, Chamaeleonidae)

We generated high-quality reference genome assemblies for two southern African dwarf chameleons, Bradypodion pumilum and B. ventrale. These genomes are currently among the most complete and contiguous reptile assemblies and are the first on record for Chamaeleonidae. Chameleons show unique adaptive traits and ecology, and these assemblies presented here provide a novel resource for evolutionary research into this group.
