<b>Meta-data</b>Time Intervals: To ensure speeds were constant in order to meet the time requirements, average steps were calculated and followed through by experimenters while sweeping along transects (i.e. walking each meter in 2 seconds for the 60 second intervals)<br>Sweeping Maneuver: The general rule applied was to sweep once for every second spent walking along transect.<br>Observations: Total number of individuals and RTUs were counted by flipping net over but also making sure not to let any individuals fly out.<br><b>Method</b>Experimenter with sweep net walked along a transect (30 meters) over an interval of 60, 70, 80, 90, and 100 seconds, respectively. The net was continually (swept) along the plant species of the grassland, slowly but steadily. At the end of every transect, collected animal life were observed and recorded in terms of the Total Number of Individuals and Recognizable Taxonomic Units (RTUs). "Sweeps" of each time interval were repeated for two trials for a total of 10 sweeps. <br><b>Hypothesis</b>There is a significant correlation between the amount of time spent on a "sweep" and the resulting total number of individuals and RTUs in the sweep net. <br><b>Predictions</b>1. The more time spent conducting a sweep, the higher the resulting total number of individuals will be.2. With higher total number of individuals in a sweep, higher RTUs will be observed.
