The RNA-binding protein Snd1/Tudor-SN can regulate gene expression through various mechanisms and is suggested to function in stress responses. Here we have analyzed mRNA expression in Tudor-SN knockdown and control flies in hypoxic and normoxic conditions. Total RNA was obtained from adult flies. The Drosophila UAS-GAL4 system was used for knockdown with Daughterless-GAL4 (Da-GAL4) for ubiquitous gene silencing. The UAS-Tudor-SN RNAi line was from Bloomington Drosophila Stock Center, Indiana University (Stock number 34865). The experimental setting included biological triplicate samples (3 controls + 3 knockdowns) each containing 10 flies in conditions of hypoxia, either 2% or 6% oxygen for 6 hours, or at normal atmospheric oxygen.
