AAMR Monthly Precipitation at 1 km and 5 km Resolution for the Afro-Asian Monsoon Region (2000–2025)

The AAMR dataset provides monthly precipitation for the Afro-Asian Monsoon Region at nominal 1 km and 5 km spatial resolutions from June 2000 through January 2025 (296 calendar months). Precipitation is expressed as monthly accumulated precipitation in mm/month. The release contains two climate-zone-specific products. The 5 km product is the fused monthly precipitation field used as the p5km predictor in the 1 km downscaling workflow. The 1 km product is the final downscaled monthly precipitation product. Data are organized for five climate zones: Humid, Semi-Humid, Semi-Arid, Arid, and Hyper-Arid. The dataset is distributed as ten ZIP archives, corresponding to five climate zones at two spatial resolutions, with 296 monthly GeoTIFFs in each archive. The rasters are single-band float32 GeoTIFFs in EPSG:4326 (WGS 84), with NoData = −9999. Nominal grid spacings are approximately 0.008983152841195° for the 1 km product and 0.044915764205976° for the 5 km product. The release also includes machine-readable file and archive inventories, pixel-level quality-control statistics, and SHA-256 checksum manifests. Publication copies of the 1 km GeoTIFFs were sanitized to remove machine-specific absolute filesystem paths from metadata tags while preserving raster values and core geospatial properties.
