Annual averages for the sign manufacturing industry (NAICS 339950, private ownership) in every U.S. state and the District of Columbia, for 2024 and 2023: number of establishments, employment, total annual wages, average weekly wage and average annual pay, with the year-over-year change in establishments and employment. In 2024 the industry had 7,581 establishments employing 76,480 people at an average annual pay of $63,399. Figures are taken from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages open-data files and compiled for Sign Trade Data, which publishes one page per state, for example sign shops in Texas. Cells BLS suppresses for confidentiality are left blank and flagged N in the disclosure column rather than estimated. The methodology explains the series and its limits: it is a census of employers with payroll, so owner-only shops with no staff are not counted.
