Non probabilbity, purposive sampling design. The selection of the image sample for analysis took place in two stages. During October - December 2018, researchers took photographs of all of the print advertisements that promoted specific types of food and beverage products previously defined on a list. These images were then revised and selected taking into account the use of optimal criteria for taking photographs (adequate quality, focus and lighting), while duplicates were eliminated. Only unique food and beverage print advertisement image were included in the final sample of 200 photographs (100 for Peru and 100 for Guatemala).

非概率目的性抽样设计。本次分析所用图像样本的遴选分为两个阶段开展。2018年10月至12月期间,研究人员对预先在清单中明确界定的各类特定食品及饮料产品的全部平面广告进行拍摄采集。随后,研究人员依据拍摄最优准则(画质达标、对焦清晰、光照适宜)对采集到的图像进行筛选与修订,并剔除重复样本。最终仅纳入无重复的食品饮料平面广告图像,最终样本共计200张(秘鲁与危地马拉各100张)。
