The number of transactions done through the Immediate Payment Service as of December 2020 accounted for over 355.69 million. There was a tremendous growth in the transaction volume since September 2013. Set up in November 2010, IMPS is a 24-hour, seven day a week service for instant payment of inter-bank transfers via mobile phones owned by the NPCI.
