Association of obesity and anovulatory infertility

ABSTRACT Objective To verify the association of obesity and infertility related to anovulatory issues. Methods This case-control study was carried out with 52 women, aged 20 to 38 years, divided into two groups (infertile − cases − and fertile − control), seen at outpatient clinics, in the period from April to December, 2017. Results We found significant evidence that obesity negatively affects women’s fertility (p=0.017). The group of infertile women was 7.5-fold more likely to be obese than fertile women. Conclusion Strategies that encourage weight control are indicated for women with chronic anovulation, due to hight metabolic activity of adipose tissue.摘要 研究目的：验证肥胖与无排卵性不孕的相关性。方法：本病例对照研究共纳入52名年龄20~38岁的女性，于2017年4月至12月期间在门诊就诊，分为不孕组（病例组）与生育对照组。结果：研究发现肥胖对女性生育力存在显著负面影响（p=0.017）；不孕女性发生肥胖的风险是生育女性的7.5倍。结论：鉴于脂肪组织具有较高的代谢活性，针对慢性无排卵女性，应采取体重控制相关干预策略。
