Dataset: Comparison of Adhesive Strategies with Different Etching Approaches on the Clinical Performance of Restorations in Non-Carious Cervical Lesions (Systematic Review and Network Meta-Analysis)

This dataset supports a systematic review and frequentist random-effects network meta-analysis evaluating the clinical performance of adhesive strategies with different etching approaches in non-carious cervical lesions (NCCLs). The dataset includes structured data extracted from 74 randomized and controlled clinical trials conducted in permanent teeth. Variables comprise study characteristics, participant demographics, intervention classifications (etch-and-rinse, self-etch, selective-etch, and resin-modified glass ionomer), adhesive system categories (including universal and non-universal systems), restorative materials, and outcome data for marginal adaptation and retention loss. Outcome data are organized as event counts and total sample sizes per study arm, enabling pairwise and network meta-analytical comparisons. The dataset also includes derived variables used for network construction, such as intervention coding, treatment grouping, and outcome harmonization. Risk of bias assessments (RoB 2) and CINeMA-based confidence ratings are provided as supplementary structured data. The dataset is formatted to be directly compatible with R statistical software, particularly the netmeta package, facilitating full reproducibility of the analyses. All data were extracted and curated in accordance with PRISMA 2020 and PRISMA-NMA guidelines and correspond to the PROSPERO-registered protocol of the study.
