This is a digital reproduction of an image held at the Library of Congress. The photograph shows a man wearing a tarbush looking through the iron door of the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. The tarbush is a close-fitting, flat-topped, brimless hat shaped like a truncated cone made of felt and a silk tassel which was popular during the Ottoman period. This is a cropped version of the original image at the Library of Congress. This image exists as part of the Nativity Church collection within the Library of Congress project of the Planet Bethlehem Archive.
