NASA JPL Hercules C-130 Data from the 1995 Southern Oxidants Study (SOS) Nashville/Middle Tennessee Ozone Study Data Base

A8 - NASA JPL Hercules C-130 Data The Southern Oxidants Study (SOS) conducted a major field research campaign in Nashville/Middle Tennessee area in June and July 1994 and 1995. The goal of this study was to improve scientific understanding of the processes that control the production and distribution of ozone in the troposphere. The NASA C-130 Hercules conducted airborne experiments on 6 days during the 1995 Southern Oxidants Study (SOS) Nashville/Middle Tennessee ozone study. The aircraft was fitted with the Atmospheric Emission Spectrometer (AES). All C-130 flights executed a standard "search pattern" flight plan at a fixed altitude perpendicular to the Nashville synoptic wind vector. The study was conducted from July 7, 1995 through July 15, 1995. The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) was the coordinator for the 1995 Southern Oxidants Study Nashville/Middle Tennessee Ozone Study.
