The extent data products in this data collection comprise spatial data describing the distribution of IUCN GET EFGs across the Ecosystem Accounting Area (EAA) defined for national ecosystem accounts for Australia. \n\nThe data provided are spatial data in the form of GeoTiff raster files for the majority of IUCN-GET EFGs, with the exception of the Artesian springs and oases EFG (F2.8) within the Lakes biome (vector point data). For all terrestrial EFGs the data cover the pre-1750 time period, as well as an annual time series from 2010–11 to 2023–24.\n\nThe data products comprise raster files with one additional vector file:\n•\tFifteen raster files with a spatial resolution of 100 m represent the majority of EFGs at 15 different time periods: a reference extent (pre-1750 or pre-European), and 14 annual extents from 2010–11 to 2023–24.\n•\tA single raster file with a spatial resolution of 250 m represents the shelf ocean waters biome for a single time period (2023).\n•\tA single raster file with a spatial resolution of 250 m represents the pelagic ocean waters biome for a single time period (2023).\n•\tA point vector representing artesian springs and oases within the lakes biome for a single time period (2022).\n\nThese data products meet these specifications:\n•\tSpatial reference: GDA2020 / Australian Albers (EPSG:9473)\n•\tRaster file format: GeoTiff \n•\tSpatial extent: xmin: -2253900, xmax: 2949600, ymin: -5218400, ymax: -929100.\n\nThis collection also contains cross-walk files that were used to develop the data products. Both source and derived datasets were combined into a spatial layer, with each pixel allocated to a single EFG across the EAA, using the Simple Standard for Sharing Ontology Mappings (Matentzoglu et al. 2022) for cross-referencing ecosystem entities from national datasets to the EFGs.
