The Geochemical composition of the Holocene sediments of the Wainganga River Basin (WRB) near Pauni town, Central India have been studied to ascertain provenance, tectonic adjustment, weathering intensity and climate shifts to understand the regional sedimentary evolution. The geochemical studies disclose that the WRB, Pauni sediments were derived from felsic source and sedimentation took place in the passive margin tectonic settings. The indices of weathering (CIA, PIA, CIW, and ICV) suggest incipient to moderate chemical weathering of the WRB Holocene sediments. The paleoclimate during the process of the Holocene sedimentation of the Wainganga River has shifted from dry and semi-arid conditions to wetter and semi-humid conditions with an increasing trend of chemical maturity as time elapsed.

针对印度中部保尼镇附近温甘加河盆地(Wainganga River Basin, WRB)全新世(Holocene)沉积物的地球化学组成展开研究,旨在明确其物源、构造调整、风化强度与气候变迁特征,进而揭示区域沉积演化规律。地球化学分析结果显示,保尼地区温甘加河盆地沉积物起源于长英质物源区,且沉积作用发生于被动大陆边缘构造环境中。各项风化指标包括化学蚀变指数(Chemical Index of Alteration, CIA)、斜长石蚀变指数(Plagioclase Index of Alteration, PIA)、化学风化指数(Chemical Index of Weathering, CIW)以及化学变异指数(Index of Chemical Variability, ICV),分析结果表明,温甘加河盆地全新世沉积物经历了从初期到中等强度的化学风化作用。温甘加河全新世沉积过程中的古气候随时间推移,由干旱半干旱环境逐渐向湿润半湿润环境转变,同时化学成熟度亦呈逐步升高的趋势。
