Topics include: whether the respondent would like to see Australia's population growing faster in the next five years than over the last five years; whether a population increase should be brought about by a greater intake of migrants or by Australian families having more children; whether Australia should declare itself a republic; whether the respondent approves of Australia retaining the Queen as Head of State; whether the respondent would prefer an elected President with extensive powers as in the U.S.A. or a Government-appointed President with only limited powers if there were no monarchy system in Australia; the legalisation of prostitution and of homosexual acts between consenting adults; Mr Fraser as Prime Minister; Mr Hayden as Leader of the Opposition; whether the respondent supports the Federal Government's changes to health insurance in Australia and whether the changes will improve the quality of health services; and, whether the respondent is covered by a private health insurance fund. Background variables include age, sex, marital status, level of education, income, occupation of self and head of household, telephone ownership, type and tenure of dwelling, voting enrolment, vote intention, and, whether the respondent participates in the decision to purchase goods on behalf of his employer.
