Gene database of Mycolicibacterium smegmatis strain NCTC8159

This work presents the gene database of <i>Mycolicibacterium smegmatis</i> strain NCTC8159 that comprises gene name, gene function, and gene sequence of all genes in the microbe. Information for the database is derived from the annotated genome sequence of <i>M. smegmatis</i> downloaded from Genbank, which was parsed by an in-house MATLAB genome analysis software. Overall, information from the gene database could be used to decipher new insights into this morphologically interesting microorganism.
