Riedones3D

Riedones3D is a dataset consisting of 2070 3D-scanned Celtic coins, created by a research team from Mines Paris and PSL University. This dataset is designed to support research on coin registration and fine-grained clustering, with a particular focus on coin die identification. The coins in the dataset originate from the Riedones tribe, and were excavated near the Armorican Peninsula in modern-day Brittany. By leveraging high-quality 3D scanning technologies, Riedones3D can capture the fine geometric details of coin motifs, which is critical for both coin die research and historical economic studies. Additionally, the dataset provides two benchmark tasks: one for point cloud registration and the other for coin die clustering, to assist experts in automated coin die identification.
