The albino young shoots of tea plant in spring had high agricultural economic value, but the research on the mechanism of albino was not clear. 'Zhonghuang 2 (ZH2)' was a naturally mutated albino tea cultivar, which was albino at low temperature and turned green at high temperature. Studying on the level of DNA methylation in ZH2 could provide research basis and direction for revealing the mechanism of albino in tea plants. Therefore, we chose the Whole Genome Bisulfite Sequencing method to perform DNA methylation sequencing and analysis the changes on the level of DNA methylation between the green and albino young shoots of ZH2, aiming to identify potential related genes and provide a theoretical basis for the breeding of albino tea varieties.
