In this research, we present an auction-inspired model for providing/demanding resources without any money exchange among cloud service providers. This model, which we call Bartering Double Auction Resource Allocation (BDARA), helps service providers receive the resources they need in the form of virtual machines with different types of functionality. Under this mechanism, if one party violates the SLA, the other one takes back its resources to avoid possible loss. The experimental results using the CloudSim simulator as well as the statistical analyses show that the proposed mechanism can increase the social welfare and profitability of service providers while significantly reducing SLA violations.

本研究提出了一种受拍卖机制启发的模型,用于云服务提供商之间无需货币交易的资源供需对接。本模型被命名为易货式双向拍卖资源分配(Bartering Double Auction Resource Allocation, BDARA),可助力服务提供商获取具备不同功能类型的虚拟机形式的所需资源。在该机制下,若任意一方违反服务水平协议(Service Level Agreement, SLA),另一方有权收回其所提供的资源以规避潜在损失。基于CloudSim模拟器的实验结果与统计分析表明,所提机制可提升服务提供商的社会福利与盈利能力,同时显著降低服务水平协议违约率。
