Bacterial diversity on larval and adult female Mansonia spp. from different localities of Porto Velho, Rondonia, Brazil.

Although Mansonia sp. is not considered a primary vector for endemic diseases in Brazil, their bites can cause great discomfort to humans. Mosquitoes harbor symbiotic bacteria that are essential for their development. The aims of the study were to describe the bacteria present in adults and larvae of Mansonia sp. and observe difference of bacterial diversity both between these groups and between larvae from different breeding sites.
