Maximum formation potential of trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) calculated based on annual sales data for pesticide active ingredients in Switzerland from 2008 to 2023

Annual sales data for pesticide active ingredients sold in Switzerland in the years 2008 to 2023 were screened to identify all substances containing fluorine in the molecular structure All substances authorized and sold during this time period and that contain -CF2- and/or -CF3 groups were identified and categorized as PFAS substances according to the definition of OECD 2021 Maximum formation potential of trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) from all potential precursor substances was calculated, assuming instant and quantitative transformation本研究筛选了2008至2023年瑞士境内销售的农药活性成分年度销售数据，旨在识别分子结构中含氟的所有物质。依据经济合作与发展组织（OECD）2021年发布的定义，对该时段内获得上市许可并实际销售、且含有-CF2-和/或-CF3基团的全部物质进行识别，并归类为全氟和多氟烷基物质（PFAS）。假设所有潜在前驱物质均可发生瞬时且定量的转化，计算了各类物质生成三氟乙酸（TFA）的最大生成潜能。
