资源简介:
Epilepsy is a common neurological disease; however, few if any of the currently marketed antiseizure medications prevent or cure epilepsy. Angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) represent a promising strategy to treat the numerous detrimental consequences of epileptogenesis.Scn8a pathology mimics the known effects of angiotensin type 1 receptor (AT1R) overstimulation and thus, blocking AT1R activation has potential therapeutic value in this model and other neurological disorders with similar pathological features. Results of testing candesartan, an FDA-approved ARB used to treat hypertension in pediatric patients older than 1 year, on this transgenic Scn8a mouse model yield strong evidence for its efficacy and support its use in clinical trials for children with SCN8A-related epilepsy
For inquiries regarding the contents of this dataset, please contact the Corresponding Author listed in the README.txt file.
